Prevost named Executive Director of Montana Farmers Union

Montana Farmers Union is pleased to announce Rachel Prevost has been named its Executive Director.

“Rachel has become an integral part of the Farmers Union family,” MFU President Walter Schweitzer said. “Her dedication and creativity have been inspiring, and I look forward to working alongside her as she takes Montana Farmers Union to its next level.”

Prevost spent her childhood on her family’s farm and ranch in Northeastern Montana before attending Carroll College. She started with MFU in 2020 as the grassroots organization’s lobbyist. Most recently, she served as the Government Affairs and Member Services Director.

A 4-H and FFA alumni, Prevost cares deeply about the vitality of Montana’s rural communities and the sustainability of family farms and ranches.

“With MFU’s strong commitment to education, legislation, and cooperation, it’s an honor to have the opportunity to continue advocating for a strong family farm economy alongside the committed MFU team and members making things happen in rural communities,” Prevost said. “MFU is a way to lean into building community and ‘neighboring’ with one another as we weather the joys and challenges of rural and agricultural life – things that are needed more now than ever. MFU will continue standing up for family farmers and ranchers so there is opportunity for the current and future generations. I am proud to be a part of the work and look forward to this new opportunity.”
