New MFU Sanders County Local supports family farms, ranches

Montana Farmers Union is pleased to announce the formation of the new Sanders County Local.

As an official Local, the chapter provides the opportunity for MFU member producers to more directly engage with Montana Farmers Union, a non-partisan, grassroots organization. The Local designation also allows the group to tap into MFU’s broader resources focused on education, legislation, and cooperation.

“I have a passion for ag and helping my neighbors and a Farmers Union Local seemed like a great way to make our local, boots-on-the-ground voices heard by many,” Vice President Emily Baker said. “With a local branch, we have the opportunity to bring education and assistance that is truly needed and wanted by the residents of Sanders County. I’m hopeful we will be another amazing resource and partner for local producers and agencies.”

Officers are: Elizabeth Riffle, president; Emily Baker, vice president; and Brienne Champneys, secretary.
