MFU, NFU congratulate Brooke Rollins on confirmation as Secretary of Agriculture

Montana Farmers Union and National Farmers Union congratulate Brooke Rollins on her confirmation as the 33rd Secretary of Agriculture last week by the U.S. Senate, and said Farmers Union will continue to elevate member priorities, including strengthening risk management tools for farmers, ensuring fairness in marketplaces, supporting the next generation of producers, protecting family farms from corporate consolidation, advancing mandatory country of origin labeling, and more.

“I look forward to working with our new Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins on issues important to our members like fairness for farmers, competition in the marketplace, and mandatory country of origin labeling,” MFU President Walter Schweitzer said.

“I look forward to working with Secretary Rollins to ensure the continued growth of our nation’s agriculture economy and build a strong future for family farmers and ranchers. With a deep background in rural Texas and agricultural education paired with a career in policy at the state and federal levels, Secretary Rollins will provide a unique perspective as Agriculture Secretary,” NFU President Rob Larew said.
