Become a more effective advocate for agriculture with advocacy training in D.C.

Build a solid foundation to become an effective advocate during National Farmers Union’s Advocacy Training to be held April 21-22 in Washington, D.C.

Montana Farmers Union members have access to the training that is particularly important during a time when trade disruptions, rising input costs, depressed commodity markets and corporate consolidation are squeezing family farmers from every direction. MFU will cover the cost for members selected to attend.

“Advocacy training was a lot of fun,” MFU member Beau Milton said. “We got to learn about strategies for advocating legislation, sharpen our communication skills with professional trainers, and discuss specific issues with our elected representatives in D.C. It was a terrific experience to see how the process works, and I am grateful to Farmers Union for providing this training.”

Attendees can expect engaging speaker sessions and activities to assemble resources about leadership, storytelling, civic engagement, and public speaking.

Digital applications must be submitted through NFU’s webpage by April 1. Please note that a current resume, no longer than one page, should be uploaded in the designated field on the final page of the webform prior to submission.
