20 Nov MFU Arrowpeak Camps recognized with Impact Award
Montana Farmers Union’s Arrowpeak Camp was recognized for its commitment to helping youth grow and learn with the American Camp Association Northwest Character Impact Award for Montana for the 2025 season.
The ACA Character Impact Award is a recognition given to camps that demonstrate a commitment to creating spaces and removing barriers for youth to grow, connect, and learn. These camps develop effective, creative responses to the needs of the youth using the camp environment as a teaching tool. The annual award is given to one camp in each of the five states making up the ACA Northwest Region, which includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
The award is a testament to the impact these camps have of the well-being of individuals in the camp community and the personal growth of each camper.
Since 1958, Montana Farmers Union has offered affordable camps at its Arrowpeak facility, giving children hands-on experiences with agriculture and cooperatives. More than 230 campers total attended the five camp sessions offered in 2025 that focused on cooperation, comradery, outdoor adventure, and agriculture. Campers grew produce in gardens, interacted with lambs and chickens, and most importantly had unplugged fun! Each year’s camp curriculum is driven by a camper-elected Youth Advisory Committee that helps guide and direct themes, programing, and adventures.
The fees for camp are reasonable, costing just $100 for members to sleep, eat, play, and learn. Registration for the 2026 camp season will open in mid-February for the following camps:
- Senior Teen 1 camp (ages Ages 13-18): June 7-12
- Mini Camp (ages 7-9): June 14-16
