MFU Drive-In connects members, legislators

Montana Farmers Union members can let Montana legislators know what family farmers and ranchers prioritize first-hand during the Montana Farmers Union biennial Legislative Drive-In planned Jan. 7 at the Capitol in Helena.

“The Helena Drive-In hosted by Montana Farmers Union helps members connect with their local legislators so we can advocate for the issues that are impacting family farm agriculture and rural communities,” MFU Member Services Director Rachel Prevost said.

The day includes updates from agency and legislative leaders, advocacy training, a Montana-sourced lunch for Legislators in the rotunda, dinner with House and Senate Ag Committee members, as well as opportunities to connect with and discuss important issues with Legislators throughout the day.

Prevost encouraged MFU members to attend and share their stories about how legislation impacts their day-to-day work and communities.

“Making your voice heard at the State Legislature and being involved is how we ensure legislators know how new laws and bills being considered will impact our state – especially agriculture,” Prevost said.

Members who attend are eligible to have some travel expenses reimbursed. Contact Prevost with questions or to RSVP at rprevost@montanafarmersunion.com
