Join Montana Farmers Union members from across the state for the 111th Annual Convention as we gather in beautiful Bozeman to celebrate agriculture, strengthen rural communities, and shape the future of our organization. 

Convention is where members come together to discuss policy priorities for the 2027 Legislative Session, participate in educational workshops, elect organizational leadership, and build lasting connections with fellow producers and rural advocates.

What to Expect

Throughout the weekend, members will have opportunities to: 

  • Vote on Montana Farmers Union policy and bylaws 
  • Elect organizational leadership, including Board Directors, Vice President, Conductor, and Doorkeeper 
  • Participate in educational workshops and producer sessions 
  • Hear from industry experts on today’s most important agricultural and rural issues 
  • Network with members, partners, exhibitors, and vendors 
  • Enjoy delicious Montana-made meals 
  • Celebrate the strength and future of family agriculture


Convention Sessions


Thursday, October 15

Pre-Convention Agriculture Tours  

Kick off convention with guided tours of area agricultural operations. 

Tour Details 

Locations: throughout MSU Research Facilities and MSU Research Farms –  more details coming soon.  

  • Transportation: Provided (limited to 80 participants) 
  • Bus Departure: 12:45 p.m. from the Best Western GranTree Inn 
  • Tour Time: Approximately 1:00–5:00 p.m. 
  • Farm-to-Table Dinner: Locally sourced dinner at the Bozeman Event Center with networking and more! 

What to Bring 

  • Comfortable walking shoes 
  • Jacket, hat, and gloves 
  • Dress for Montana’s fall weather 


Friday & Saturday Oct 16 & 17

Convention officially begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16.

Highlights include:

  • Producer-led policy discussions and voting
  • Educational sessions covering:
    • Agriculture
    • Cooperatives
    • Food systems
    • Rural mental health
    • Beginning farmer and rancher resources
    • And more
  • Board and leadership elections
  • MSU Capstone Project Poster Presentations — meet students and learn about innovative agricultural research
  • Vendor exhibits and networking opportunities
  • Delicious Montana-made meals throughout the convention


Sunday, October 18

Post-Convention Tours

Wrap up convention with optional tours of area farms and agricultural operations.

Additional details coming soon, the tour will include 2 area farm or ranch tour stops.

Carpool will be organized but transportation for the post-convention tours is on your own.
