Consumers are being misled about where their beef and pork comes from. Any beef can be brought into the U.S., repackaged, and sold as “PRODUCT OF USA” under current rules.
The American Beef Labeling Act was recently introduced and seeks to reinstate the mandatory country of origin labeling (COOL) requirements for beef. The COOL bill will give consumers the truth.
