The MFU Foundation Community Grants program supports projects that strengthen Montana agriculture and rural communities. These grants invest in initiatives that enhance agricultural education, build and expand Montana-based local food systems and distribution efforts, support cooperative development, and improve agricultural production and efficiency. Priority is given to projects that advance regenerative, resilient, and sustainable agricultural practices.

The MFU Foundation Scholarships support students pursuing education connected to agriculture, food systems, and rural communities. Through investment in education, the Foundation helps develop the next generation of agricultural leaders, innovators, and advocates who are committed to strengthening Montana’s farms, ranches, cooperatives, and local food systems.

4-H Sentence Grants
Our mini-grant program is available from Montana Farmers Union. In an effort to bolster Montana 4-H club projects, this program is a great way for clubs to put funding to use for their community or club! In the past 2 years we have funded more than $20,000 to local 4-H clubs all across the state.
The process is simple — clubs can apply by submitting a sentence about how they would use $100 following discussing it at their meeting.

As part of its commitment to supporting family farmers and ranchers through education, legislation, and cooperation, Montana Farmers Union and its Locals have awarded a combined $22,750 in student scholarships with awards to more than 20 students, the grassroots organization announced today.

More Scholarship Options through Montana Farmers Union
Bud Daniels Memorial Scholarship- $1,000
Bud Daniels was a former president of Montana Farmers Union. Bud also served as the National Farmers Union Vice President in 1992. He had a life-long devotion to improving the lives of rural Americans and keeping farmers on the land.
John Korsbeck Memorial Scholarship- $1,000
John Korsbeck was involved in farming and the “country way of life” throughout his lifetime. He was involved with 4-H and Farmers Union, becoming a Torchbearer, which is the highest award presented to Farmers Union youth. John was a Montana Farmers Union insurance agent from 1976-2005. John proudly served his country in Vietnam and was highly admired and respected.
MFU Scholarship and County Scholarships- $1,000- $500
Scholarships are awarded at the County level from the following counties:
