MFU member selected as Next Gen rep to NFU board

Laurel farmer Carah Ronan has been selected as the Next Generation Advisory Representative on National Farmers Union’s Board of Directors.

Ronan runs Rodi Farm, a family farm producing sustainably and organically grown heirloom cut flowers, garlic, vegetables, and poultry. In addition to her new role with NFU, which lasts three years, she also is an associate board member with Montana Farmers Union.

“I’m most excited to continue to learn and grow myself on both a personal and national level so that I can continue to help fight for family farms and the next generation coming back to farm on them,” Ronan said.

MFU looks forward to Ronan representing Montana producers, MFU President Walter Schweitzer said.

“In the years Carah has been an MFU member, she has established herself as an outspoken advocate for producers. Her experiences starting and running Rodi Farm, as well as outside of agriculture, make her a great fit as the Next Generation Representative of National Farmers Union’s board,” Schweitzer said.
