Women passionate about agriculture and rural communities gained skills and resources during Montana Farmers Union’s Eastern Montana Women’s Conference held Jan. 31-Feb. 1 in Sidney.
The conference is one of two women’s conferences offered by MFU and serves as an opportunity for women to connect with each other and resources through hands-on workshops, inspiring keynote speakers, locally sourced meals, and community building.
“My favorite part was connecting with likeminded women. I really enjoyed [keynote speaker] April Martin’s presentation, it was very moving,” said Cassandra Bergum, a rancher from Culbertson.
“I’ve been to decades of agriculture meetings, and this was the most informative and most fun of any of those conferences. I commend Montana Farmers Union’s Women’s Conference for mixing policy discussion with creation of new friendships and skills. It was a blast, and I want to be invited back next year,” keynote speaker Sarah Vogel said.
Other educational programming opportunities offered by MFU, including Ladies Who Ag events, keep women’s conference attendees in contact throughout the year and welcome more women to connect.
