Montana Farmers Union Legislative Drive-in 2025 Agenda (Tentative, Subject to Change)

First meeting location: Montana Department of Agriculture Conference Room (302 N Roberts, Helena, MT 59601) MFU staff will be around the building to help you find our meeting location. 

10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Welcome and review of plan for the Drive-in

                Updates from the Department of Ag (Ian Foley) and Department of Natural Resources 

                Advocacy and Priorities Information Training with Farmers Union

·         How to have effective conversations with your legislator and learn more about the bills and issues MFU will be working on this session.

11:50 a.m. Members gather at the front of the Capitol for a group photo

Second meeting location: Montana Capitol Rotunda (2^nd floor of the Capitol) 1301 East 6th Ave, Helena MT

Noon-1 p.m. Montana foods lunch in the Rotunda hosted by Montana Farmers Union

                MFU staff will be assisting MFU members to find their Representative and their Senator

1 p.m. – end of Floor session: MFU members watch the floor session in the gallery of either chamber, connect with their legislator after floor session ends

3 p.m. (or convening time of either Ag Committees):  MFU members go to the ag committee to listen in to hearings scheduled and connect before/after with members of the committee

6 p.m. MFU hosted Dinner at MT City Grill for the Agriculture Committee members (Address: 4 Mt Hwy 518, Montana City, MT 59634) Feel free to carpool with MFU staff or other members if you would like to the dinner and back to the hotel. MFU staff can help coordinate this if you would like a ride to the restaurant.
