Great Falls, MT- Montana Farmers Union (MFU) and Farmers Union Enterprise (FUE) are pleased to once again make a sizeable in-kind donation of pork ribs to the Montana Food Bank Network. The truck will arrive in Missoula on December 18 at 8 a.m. carrying 38,000 pounds of ribs from Redwood Farms to be distributed by the Montana Food Bank Network. The Flathead Food Bank was a recipient of the May pork donation given by MFU and FUE and expects to be a recipient of the second pork donation. Flathead Food Bank Executive Director Jamie Quinn says the organization is very appreciative of the donation. “Thank you Montana Farmers Union for supporting food banks across Montana with healthy Farmers Union sourced pork. Your care and hard work will bring smiles and full stomachs to your neighbors.”
In total last May FUE donated 150,000 pounds of pork to various food pantries in the five states it supports including North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
“We are pleased to make a second donation of pork ribs to the Montana Food Bank Network,” said Walter Schweitzer, President of Montana Farmers Union. “Montana Farmers Union and Farmers Union Enterprise are all about supporting the family farm and helping to feed our friends and neighbors who are facing food insecurity.”
