MFU Urges Farmers to File

Part of the foundation of Farmers Union is advocacy and legislative involvement.
MFU is encouraging members and community members to file for candidacy- regardless of party affiliation.
“We need more farmers among our elected officials,” offers MFU President Walter Schweitzer. Farmers and ranchers are arguably the most important workers in the U.S., but comprise a tiny percentage of the population and an even smaller proportion of elected officials. One example occurs in the U.S. Senate, where Montana’s own Senator Jon Tester is the sole farmer.
Stand up; speak out, and put yourself in the running!
