Each year since 1944, the third week of September has been recognized as National Farm Safety & Health Week. This recognition has been an annual promotion initiated by the National Safety Council and has been proclaimed as such by each sitting U.S. President since Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the first document.

In recognition of Farm Safety Week we are “Shifting Farm Safety into High Gear” by co-hosting several programs out there with our Volunteer Fire Departments or invitation by other community organizations.  These programs will be about three hours long and will cover the following topics: general farm safety; what happens when you call 911; first aid tips and chemical safety. The information is audiences appropriate for groups from 3rd grade to young adults and we encourage parents to attend.
