Parker Memorial Golf Tournament

GREAT FALLS, MT (May 30, 2008) – The 16^th annual Ralph Parker Memorial Golf Tournament to raise scholarship funds for Montana State University students is Saturday, June 21 at the Harvest Hills Golf Club near Fairfield.

The benefit event is open to any golfer. Registration begins at 9:00 AM with a shot-gun start at 10:00 AM. A barbecue and prize presentation follows the tournament. The $55 entry fee includes the barbecue and green fees. Flights will be arranged by handicap.

All proceeds go to scholarships. In each of the past several years, the benefit raised $5,000 for scholarships for students studying cooperative business principles.

The annual event is held in memory of Ralph Parker, a longtime Sun River farmer and dairyman who was instrumental in establishing electric, telephone, marketing and supply cooperatives in Central Montana.

The event is organized by Farm Credit Services, Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Co., Montana Telecommunications Association (MTA), Ethel Parker, Karl Dorr, Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association (MECA) and the Montana Farmers Union.
